GPS Float Lite Demo

This Parallax Serial Terminal (PST) demo application introduces the 'GPS_Str_NMEA_Lite.spin v1.0' and the 'GPS_Float_Lite.spin v1.0' driver objects.
The 'GPS_Str_NMEA_Lite' driver interfaces the Propeller to a GPS receiver. This NMEA-0183 parser captures and decodes RMC and GGA type sentences of the GPS Talker device in a robust way.
The 'GPS_Float' driver object bridges a SPIN program to the strings and longs provided by the basic 'GPS_Str_NMEA_Lite' driver and translates them into long and float values and checks errors wherever appropriate.
These 2 'Lite' objects have standard version at Obex, too.

These objects are superb. They do "exactly what it says on the tin". The code is well laid-out, thoroughly and comprehensively documented and easy to "plug-in to" from other objects. I have been using these objects with the Parallax / Polstar GPS module to log position data (together with RPM, etc, as I drive around) and display GPS information on an LCD - these objects haven't missed a beat and have been robust enough that even I have not been able to break them! I cross the Greenwich Meridian regularly and, unlike some other methods tried, these objects haven't needed any extra code to deal with travelling between 'Eastern' and 'Western' hemispheres. A lot of effort must have gone into writing these, for which I thank the author profusely: they epitomise the re-use/sharing and plug-and-play philosophy of the Prop Obex. I'm sure there are more NMEA sentences to add! ;-) Thank you!
