ADC0831 LM34

A very basic object which captures the current temperature using an LM34. The temperature is processed via an a/d converter (ADC0831), and is displayed on the desktop monitor via a hyperterminal connection. (MIT license added 2/28/2008)

Not a bad beginners project all in all. Just wanted to point out a couple things to help you along: 1) on line 63 of your file on your diagram you show Propeller pin 21 to chip pin 2 - actually this should be pin 6... 2) not sure if your 1uf capacitor is electrolytic or not (mine was). If yours was be sure to show the polarity on your diagram. The + would go by the end connected to the 270ohm resistor... 3) no need to keep setting pin 19 to output on line 88 in the repeat loop, is ok to do this once outside the loop... 4) by strict reading of the ADC0831 spec sheet there should be 1 (high - low) clock pulse on CLK (19) after CS (20) is brought low but before you start the 8 clock pulses to shift out the data to DO (21). This is likely not problematic in the case of the ADC0831 because there is only 1 channel and no MUX address need be clocked in... Glad you are using the Propeller its a neat chip. Hope this feedback can help you some. D.Hamilton
